Why We Built This

Built for Indian Roads & Prices. No EV Sales Pitch.

Everyone has an opinion about EVs in India. Dealerships promise you'll save lakhs instantly. Skeptics claim batteries will die in 3 years in our heat. The real answer depends on your daily commute in traffic, your state's electricity board rates, and local petrol prices.

That's why we built India's most detailed total cost of ownership calculator for EVs. You enter your daily running, your city's exact petrol price, and your home charging rate. The calculator does the math for you. It factors in battery degradation, real maintenance schedules, and realistic efficiency so you see the real rupees saved. No guessing, no bias.

What People Say vs. What Math Says

The Hype

"Buy an EV and save ₹50,000 right away!" Sounds great, but they don't mention the ₹1.5 lakh higher price tag or the cost of replacing the battery.

The Doubt

"EV batteries die in 3 years, so it's a waste of money." But the truth is, most batteries come with 5 to 8 year warranties and often last much longer.

Our Calculator

We include everything. Purchase price, fuel, maintenance, battery replacement, and your actual driving distance. That way, you see the full picture.

What You Get

See the Full Picture: From Daily Savings to Battery Replacement.

Our EV savings calculators help you easily visualize the financial impact of your decision. We handle the complex math behind Indian EV ownership so you don't have to.

Stop Wasting Money

EVs cost a premium upfront. If you only commute 10 km a day in city traffic, it could take years to recover that cost. We visualize exactly which month your EV breaks even and starts putting real rupees back into your pocket.

Includes Hidden Costs

Most basic calculators skip battery replacements and servicing. We factor in battery degradation cycles, actual OEM maintenance schedules, and auto loan interest rates. You get the true total cost of ownership (TCO) in Indian rupees.

Made for Indian Prices

Petrol is ₹105 in Mumbai but ₹95 in Jaipur. Electricity rates differ by state. You can set your own petrol price, electricity rate, and daily distance so the answer matches your city and your driving habits.

How It Works

Simple math. Real Indian prices.

Our electric car running cost calculator uses two simple formulas to figure out how much it costs you to drive 1 km. One formula is for EVs and the other is for petrol vehicles. Then it adds up the total cost of ownership over the years.

For Electric Vehicles

EV Cost/km = Electricity Rate ÷ Efficiency

Example:

  • Electricity: ₹8/kWh
  • Efficiency: 25 km/kWh (scooter)

→ ₹0.32/km

For Petrol Vehicles

Petrol Cost/km = Fuel Price ÷ Mileage

Example:

  • Petrol: ₹105/litre
  • Mileage: 45 km/litre (scooter)

→ ₹2.33/km

What makes this calculator different?

Most free calculators only compare how much it costs to drive per km. Ours is a full total cost of ownership calculator. It adds up the vehicle price, fuel or electricity cost over your ownership period, yearly maintenance, and EV battery replacement. That way, you see the complete picture before buying.
